TEN years of sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting and gossiping characterised the regular meetings of the Winforton Arts and Crafts Group.

Meeting at the Community Hall in Winforton Church, it started off as a fortnightly gathering, but in more recent times it has become a weekly event.

To mark the celebration, and following an idea by Angie Shorthouse, the last several months have been dedicated to a creating a wall-hanging to be displayed in the hall, which brings together all aspects of village life in this tranquil part of Herefordshire.

At the anniversary lunch party, the Rev Marcus Small unveiled the hanging and particularly mentioned the 'sewing and knitting together' of so many members of the community in this wonderful effort.

Angie described the various 'squares' of work done and the mighty task of piecing it all together and framing it, and she particularly mentioned the contribution of Jonathan at Forge Framing and Gallery in Hay-on-Wye for his generous assistance.
