TALKS from two prominent Hereford citizens have underpinned the City of Hereford Rotary Club’s domestic agenda in recent weeks.
Mayor Sharon Michael’s talk revealed her pride in the city where she was born and brought up.
And then Janusz Kosinski, the president and CEO of Hereford’s new university gave the club a glimpse into what the future might hold for city and county.
Further afield, club members have also been making their mark.
A small party headed for India at the end of January to take part in the annual mass polio immunisation.
Rotary International has played a significant role in ensuring that the disease is almost eradicated and the Hereford party were responsible for dispensing vaccine to around 600 youngsters on their day of action.
A little closer to home, a number of club members joined more than 400 Rotarians who made the journey to Bournemouth for the annual conference.
City of Hereford member Colin Hunt, an assistant district governor, was this year's conference chairman.
Thoughts are now turning to the future and two significant fundraising events for the club.
The popular am-am golf event will be taking place at Herefordshire Golf Club on June 15.
But, before that, the river carnival on May 5 sees the annual duckrace which brings important income – ducks are now on sale and any club member will be delighted to sell you a ticket.
