ONE of the Hereford Gang Show’s previous secretaries Dorothy Brailsford now resides in Hampton Grange nursing home.

She and her husband Alan ran the Gang Show for many years, supporting producers Jim Harris and Di Clinkett before handing over to David and Pam for the 1992 show. They continued to be enthusiastic supporters and followers of the show until Alan died and Dorothy was no longer able to get out.

Their son Rob has also been involved and continues to watch the shows along with other members of the family and old Gang Show acquaintances. The family also continue to support the shows financially.

Rob asked if the Gang could take some time out to visit Hampton Grange and give Dorothy and some of the residents a few excerpts from the show. As a result Hereford Gang Show visited the residents and sang some songs from the show. The residents had even prepared a camp fire to add to the atmosphere!

Over 140 Scouts and Guides will take to The Courtyard stage at Easter for the 26th Hereford Gang Show. Rehearsals are well underway, and the excitement is starting to build amongst members of the biggest cast the show has ever seen.

Producer Ian Strangward is pleased with progress made to date: “We have a fantastic show, and the cast are doing well - but there’s still lots of hard work ahead before we get to where I want us to be by Easter”.

For anyone asking “what is a Gang Show?" it can best be described as a variety show - two hours of pure entertainment: song, dance and lots of sketches and other items all designed to have the audience tapping their feet, laughing out loud and generally having a great time.
