THE launch of the 2018 programme of events for the Friends of St Thomas a Becket Church, Huntington, will take place on Saturday, April 7 at 7.30pm at Huntington Village Hall.

The first talk will be by Felicity Jones, called Our New Energy Systems one of the most dynamic young people of Huntington - who was educated at Lady Hawkins School, then at Oxford University and finally at Imperial College London.

Felicity Jones works in the highly important renewable energy sector and is a consultant for pioneering battery projects and wider energy storage systems. From the offshore wind titans in the North Sea through to solar panels on our Herefordshire roofs, Felicity will explain a series of energy conundrums which affect us all, including why August 12, 2026 will be a day of reckoning for our new electricity system and the precise time we should boil our kettles during the Royal wedding!

Do come and listen to this fascinating talk, which is relevant both to the provision of our local and national energy needs and how these can be met in a sustainable way.

The evening will conclude with a free wine and canapés party, donated by the Trustees and ladies of the village. Price: £10 per person.

Tickets can be obtainable from huntingtonchurch.co.uk or from Fiona Shone on 01544 370391.
