THE village of Bishopstone came out in force recently to collect litter from the roadsides across their parish.
In the space of a morning, the group of 15 residents collected between them a trailer load of rubbish, amounting to several hundred kilos of waste which will now be properly disposed of, rather than littering the parish's beautiful countryside.
Among the rubbish were children's toys, agricultural plastics, car parts and the remains of a terracotta plant pot.
Special thanks must go to Balfour Beatty for supplying black bags, gloves and litter picking equipment for the activity.
There are also litter picking days planned, covering Byford and Mansell Gamage.
