A NEW programme of creative classes, to support parents and carers with babies and toddlers, launches in Leominster this January.

New hands-on creative workshops have been developed by The Creation Station to enable parents to share, develop and discover with their child.

The new programme called 'Colour Creations' have been developed in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage, to nurture parenting skills and to develop essential bonds.

The fun and practical weekly classes provide a range of art and craft activities and include ideas and tips to continue the play ideas at home.

The weekly classes are based on nurturing a child's own natural curiosity to develop a love of learning through shared hands on creative fun. The 'Baby Discover' classes have been developed for babies aged five months to 15 months and the 'Little Explorer' classes and for toddlers aged 15 months to four years of age.

The programme is all about discovering and exploring the colours around us, starting with the primary colours and slowly adding more skills and knowledge so that the full range of colours can be experienced and explored, from gold and silver to rainbows and tartan.

Beatrice, the owner of The Creation Station Leominster and surrounding areas, said "I am very excited about launching our new term; colour creations is a wonderful theme and has the potential to support the development of children in our local area through a wonderful range of activities and leaning and play opportunities. While at the same time supporting parents and carers and enabling them to take an active role in their child's creative development, which research shows to be a key area with many long-term benefits. And classes are such fun! I can't wait to see what 2018 will bring."

Nikki from Kingsland recently said: "I attended my first creation station weekly session today, I picked up my Christmas cards made at one of the workshops a few weeks ago. I am over the moon with the Christmas cards and the session today was fantastic. My son got to paint, dance, glue, use glitter and make loads of mess, we were in our element. He made a jellyfish and he hasn't put it down since! Loved every moment and Bea is wonderful!"

Beatrice is leading the weekly, term-time programme for youngsters and their parents/carers every Thursday morning in Leominster, and every Monday morning in Ludlow. New classes will be starting in Presteigne, Hay-on-Wye and Bromyard soon.
