SHOPPERS and visitors to Ledbury had a delightful surprise when more than 100 Father Christmases, elves, dogs with antlers and even novelty trees braved the cold to participate in the annual charity family fun walk around the town.

Deputy Mayor Cllr Keith Francis joined the fun with a 'ho ho ho', to local businesses and the community.

Sam Jones, founder of the Madison Shelbie Trust remarked: "We had so much support as there were well over 100 Santas, elves and some very novel Christmas trees. Everyone has been amazing, we are so grateful. Obviously financially we always need help but the awareness is imperative to the work we do and this will certainly help to increase our profile.

"The Madison Shelbie Trust exists to provide bereavement support at the labour wards in Hereford County Hospital and Worcester Royal Hospital for parents and families affected by the loss of a baby during pregnancy, labour, birth or shortly after, to help reduce the distress and provide emotional support to them. We are a non-profit organisation set up in memory of my daughter.

"We provide a free bereavement support service for anyone who is suffering after the loss of a loved one, with particular emphasis on baby loss".
