THREE members of Wellington WI were invited to Megan Baker House School to present a cheque for £350 made from a member's recent coffee morning.
Val Perlman organised the event with a huge raffle consisting of donations of prizes from friends, family, members of the WI and of Hereford Flower Guild. Cakes and biscuits were also produced en masses to entice the hungry visitors.
Val, Shirley Edgar -the outgoing president and Sandra Walker, current secretary, were introduced to staff and pupils and were given a demonstration of how the pupils improve their muscle control and balance using exercises on air discs.
The Conductive technique devised in Hungary, was particularly designed to help children with cerebral palsy and dyspraxia and proved very successful with the pupils attending the school. It can also be helpful for Parkinson disease sufferers.
The WI members were impressed with the facilities and especially the enthusiasm and dedication of the young staff.
