CELEBRATING four years of community service, The Shop at Bromsberrow hosted a cream tea party for customers, friends and staff, held to thank everyone for their loyalty and commitment.

Spokesperson Jan Long who was one of the founders of the shop in November 2013 said: "When we started it was really on a wing and a prayer and we heard tales of community shops closing with a year or two, so the early days were a real challenge. Yet despite our collective inexperience, the economic downturn and other uncertainties, we overcame the obstacles and achieved success on many levels, including going into partnership with Shabby Chic antiques that has yielded financial benefit. Holding this fourth birthday party was our way of saying 'thank you' to all those customers who have remained loyal and to all our volunteer staff that give up their time to help in the shop, whether it is serving, the accounts, cleaning, ordering stock, serving in the café. We provide this much needed service to this and the surrounding communities."

The shop is on the cycle loop, and caters for groups such as Salter's hill, the visually impaired and others who pop in for refreshments.
