STUDENTS at John Kyrle High school have had another outstanding cricket season.

The Year 7 and 8 teams did well in their leagues, both finishing 3rd in their groups to just miss out on a semi-final place, whilst the Year 10 team got to the semi-final in their competition, losing a close match to the eventual winners.

Pride of place, however, goes to the Year 9 team who remained unbeaten all year.

The team beat Whitecross, Fairfield and Hereford Cathedral School before beating an excellent St Mary's team by 59 runs in the final.

Highlights of the final were a 148 run stand between Adam Davies and Ethan Lerego, with Adam remaining 98 not out at the end of the innings.

The team now go on to represent Herefordshire in the 2018 English Schools Cricket Association tournament.
