THE Mansel Lacy open gardens day was a great success, raising approximately £1,000, to be divided between the church and the community centre.

The sun shone, as visitors admired the creativity of planting, variety of settings, together with attractive summer houses and pergolas.

An additional attraction was a number of imaginative and amusing scarecrows, the winner being All Done For Today and second The Rake of Mansel Lacy.

Organisers wish to extend their grateful thanks to all who worked so hard to make the day a success - the members of the committee who organised the event; the women who produced the delicious tea and cakes and ran the tombola; plus all those who opened their gardens and made the visitors welcome.
