HARD hats and high-vis vests were the order of the day when a group from the Hereford Branch of the National Council of Women visited Wye Reclamation at Rotherwas.

They were welcomed with tea and coffee and a brief history of the company.

It started near St Weonards in 2000 before moving to Rotherwas and opening its recycling facility in 2006, the area now covers 35 acres and 99.9% of material acquired is recycled.

The group were shown round the site and then explored Warehouse 701 (named after the ROF numbering when part of the Rotherwas Munitions Factory) where a marvellous array of reclaimed material is available.

There is very little of our "rubbish" which cannot be recycled and reclaimed and find a use.

Hereford branch of the National Council of Women meet most months at Hampton Bishop Village Hall.
