ON April 23, 31-year-old Paul Corbett from Bromyard hit the ground running as he took on 26.2 miles in the London Marathon in aid of Asthma UK.

Paul took on the challenge as he has had asthma since he was a child. Paul has found that exercise has helped him manage his asthma symptoms, and wanted to complete the marathon to show others that asthma does not have to hold you back.

Asthma UK is the leading asthma charity for the one in 11 people living with asthma in the UK. Every 10 seconds someone has a potentially life-threatening asthma attack, and three people die every day. Tragically, two thirds of these deaths could be prevented, which is why Asthma UK continues to fund world-leading research to find better treatments and ultimately, a cure for asthma.

Paul said "Thank you to everyone who has supported me with their kind words and donations. I honestly could not have done this without your help. This whole experience has been incredible and I know the money I've raised for Asthma UK will help the charity with their work towards stopping asthma attacks and curing asthma."

Louise Thomas, head of events and community fundraising at Asthma UK, said "We want to thank Paul and all of our runners for their hard work and dedication in taking on this challenge. We are largely funded by public donations, so it's thanks to all of our generous fundraisers that Asthma UK is able to continue its vital work."
