CREATING small decorative boxes was the order of the day at a workshop organised for April 1 at Gladestry Village Hall.
The 10 participants, some from Gladestry and others from Chatterbrook, (Presteigne) and Staunton-on-Arrow WIs, as well as a non WI member, had a very busy and productive day building a personal set of pretty boxes.
Marilyn Thomas, a Radnorshire WI advisor, was the tutor and brought with her a fascinating collection of materials to develop the participants' imaginations and creativity. After a whole day of concentration on the task, the participants went home with five boxes each. Marilyn had carefully placed a mini-chocolate Easter egg in one of their boxes as a surprise.
Joan Hughes, a long-standing member of Gladestry WI said, 'It was a very enjoyable and entertaining day. It was lovely meeting new people and we all learned a new skill.'
The event was organised by Gladestry WI and it's hoped that further similar events will be arranged in the future.
