STRICTLY sensations AJ Pritchard and Chloe Hewitt have inspired local dancers at a Latin masterclass hosted by Nicola’s School of Dance.

Seventy pupils from the dance school enjoyed learning top tips from Strictly Come Dancing's youngest couple and were extremely excited to watch them perform their choreography.

Principal Nicola Owen said "It was a privilege to have AJ and Chloe visit the school, they are a great inspiration to our dancers and it’s fantastic to see such a vibrant approach to ballroom and Latin dancing.

"Pupils had a first hand experience of the phenomenon that’s become Strictly Come Dancing and it was thrilling to see this happen in Hereford".

After the workshop, there was time for a few questions and dance students were quick to get involved.

Thirteen year-old Lauren asked the couple how they had got into Strictly Come Dancing, to which AJ replied that the pair had been talent spotted during one of their competitions in Blackpool.

He said "At first we said that we didn't want to do the show because we were so focused our professional training and competitions. But after a couple of weeks we were persuaded that it would be a fabulous opportunity. It really is like they say - one big family on the show".

Other questions from the junior dancers included what age the pair were when they started dancing - Chloe, seven and AJ, 12 years and what their favourite dances were.

Dancer Chloe Hewitt said "Cha cha cha. It was the first dance that I ever learnt and it is still my favourite" while AJ stated that the paso doble was his favourite dance.

Towards the end of the session, a question came that Chloe announced they had never been asked before.

Eight year-old Summer asked "What is your favourite food?"

As the laughter dissipated AJ was quick to respond, calling out "Chocolate!"
