ROGER Lloyd takes over from John Platts as president of St Ethelbert Probus Club for the next year.

After the AGM, members were joined by their guests for a lunch at Three Counties Hotel, along with the presidents of the three other Probus Clubs in Hereford.

St Ethelbert's Probus Club meets every Tuesday at the Cider Museum between 9.30am and 11.30am for coffee followed by a varied and entertaining programme of speakers.

Recently they have had:

Liz Pitman telling them about the parish (St John's) that disappeared, Karen Usher updated the members on the Herefordshire University Project, Dr Jonathan Godfrey OBE principal Sixth Form College talking about Hereford education, the Bishop of Hereford Richard Frith outlining a week on his calendar and Penny Platts revealing the beauty of Japan.

The club also has lively debates on a variety for current topics.

St Ethelbert Club has a range of members, representing all aspects of professional and business careers (Probus). There are a few vacancies at the moment so why not go along, see what happens and receive a very friendly welcome?
