SIGN-UPS are now open for Hope Support Services' biggest fundraiser of the year, Jump for Hope.

The charity has raised around £30,000 since its flagship event began, helping support young people right here in Hereford when a family member is diagnosed with a life threatening illness.

Last year's skydive saw Mark, Gemma and Charlie from the city's HSBC branch take to the skies in the 10,000ft jump, continuing the voluntary work that Mark does for Hope.

"The skydive was an unbelievable, once in a lifetime experience," said Mark. "I would honestly struggle to put into words the amazing feeling you have seeing the world from 10,000ft in the air and the massive sense of achievement when you land."

"It was an experience that will truly live with me for the rest of my life."

Mark was one of 10 brave participants who signed up last year, benefitting from one of the lowest fundraising targets required for a charity jump.

"Mark has been coming to our Youth Management Team meetings for the past couple of years to help them with their finances," added Hope's administrator Lorna Russell. "Although jumping from a plane is certainly a little bit different to his usual volunteering.

"Jump for Hope is not only our biggest fundraiser, but it's the event that draws one of the widest range of people to take part. We make sure we set a realistic fundraising target to try and ensure anyone can participate - as long as they can sign the medical form of course."

This year's adrenalin-fuelled challenge will take place on May 21. Places are extremely limited, so call 01989 566317 or visit hopesupport.org.uk/jump-for-hope for more information.
