YOU never forget your first football match and one young football fan from Hereford was treated to a day he'll never forget recently after being invited to Manchester for a VIP day at the Etihad Stadium where he watched his team play Tottenham Hotspur.

Louie Broome, 11, from Hereford was the lucky winner of a recent competition to attend Manchester City's new City Family Day.

Louie and his family were whisked off to Manchester where Louie met club mascots, Moonchester and Moonbeam, and got up close and personal with the club's recent silverware.

They also had the chance to play five-a-side matches and take part in a range of activities and entertainment.

To close the pre-match event, Louie joined flag bearers and City Square presenters on a March To The Match over the City Football Academy bridge to join the rest of the home team fans as they gathered at the Etihad Stadium ahead of kick-off. Once inside the stadium, Louie enjoyed his name in lights on the jumbo screen whilst he helped to cheer on his team.

Speaking about the day Louie who attends Bishop of Hereford's Bluecoat School said. "My favourite part was the stadium tour. I got to sit in the seats of the football managers and players in the press conference room. I loved the goodie bag I was given and I put my Man City scarf on straight away. After the activity centre we marched our way to the game. I was very excited as I love football and Man City. It was a great match."
