TEME Spirits put on their performance of a Christmas Murder Mystery Slay Ride firstly at Knucklas Community centre and then at the Church Hall, Knighton. Both events were well attended and proved a very entertaining night out for all with a supper during the interval.

The performance started with some carol singing, some short sketches including a couple of dancing Christmas fairies, and then the murder of unpopular Bob Scratchitt.

Vicar of the parish, vicar Goodfellow played by Roger Emmins, introduced everyone including detective inspector Ivor Truncheon played by Ian Sharp.

It is common before any performance to say 'break a leg' but well into the final practice sessions Ian fell down the stairs at home and broke both his ankles but in true theatrical spirit the show went on and he played his part from a wheelchair.

The suspects for the murder were Carol Singer a retired headmistress played by Janet Beech, Jacqui Frost the butcher - Jo Pardoe-Bouchard, Holly Reath the postmistress - Rose Whitefoot, Declan Halls the baker - John Beaumont, Gaye Buntin the newspaper shop owner - Tracie Durant, Chris Tingle the grocer - Paul Heseltine, Silvia Bells chairman of the local Dramatic Society - Fiona Collins, Noel Nowell the Scout leader - Ann Lloyd, Missie Le'Toe a clothing retailer - Mary Lomax and Phillis Tocking the policewoman - Suzy Pardoe-Bouchard.

Each of the suspects told everyone in the audience where they were at the time of the murder and how they disliked Bob Scratchitt. The audience were given cards to ask each one of them questions about the day of the murder and other things to help the audience decided who did it. At the end all the tables in the room wrote down who they thought was the murderer and why they did it. Ivor Truncheon then revealed the murderers as the three shop keepers Chris Tingle, Declan Halls and Jacqui Halls because of Bob Scratchitt's plans to bring a supermarket to the town only one table got it right.
