THE Millennium Volunteering is a UK wide volunteering programme for 16 to 24 year olds.
Volunteers can choose to work in a voluntary organisation or group, in fact, do anything which will help the community.
There are certificates to mark the first 50 and 100 hours of volunteering and Millennium Volunteers who complete 200 hours of volunteering receive an Award of Excellence signed by the first minister from Wales.
Three young people in Knighton received the award recently, they all volunteered to work for Knighton and District Community Support Project at the Furniture Barn which sells a vast amount of items, all donated by the residents in the district.
