THOUSANDS of people from far and wide attended the firework bonanza held at Hazle meadows in Ledbury.

With fairground rides, shows, hot and cold drinks, food stalls and a pig roast supplied by LDA meats, there was something for everyone.

The massive bonfire was lit to great applause and offered warmth on a freezing night, and judging the best-dressed guy proved to be great fun.

The two spectacular fireworks displays lit the skies and drew gasps of delight from those watching where cameras were capturing the moments.

Ledbury mayor Debbie Baker remarked on the happy atmosphere and hoped the bonfire night would become a fixture in the Ledbury calendar.

Howard Pugh and his son James, whose company staged the event, were delighted the evening had been such a phenomenal success and thanked all those involved for their hard work in volunteering to serve the community, and to all those who turned up to support the event even on such a bitterly cold evening.

Ledbury Rotary Club members who were on traffic and gate duty commented that the vehicles and pedestrians arriving was non-stop, even as late as 8.15pm, people turned up to see the final display and enjoy themselves. It certainly was an extraordinarily popular occasion and funds raised will go towards The Prince's Trust.
