LEDBURY'S Community Hall looked splendid recently bedecked in flags and banners to ensure it was a fitting venue for the 90 guests who attended a lavish tea party.

The event was held to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen's 90th year and Ledbury's Mayor, Debbie Baker was on hand to provide a warm welcome in addition to helping serve dainty sandwiches and a variety of cakes.

Town crier, Bill the Bell Turberfield added a splash of colour in his traditional costume, as did councillors and supporters in their finery, church organist Phillip entertained with singalong tunes and members of the Ledbury Theatre performed for the audience.

The large cake, decorated in white, red and blue, had been made by the Bakers Dozen and donated by the Homend Shopping Mall along with food and drinks kindly supplied by Tesco Stores in Ledbury and the whole event was stage managed by Ledbury Town Councillors with help from various organisations.

Debbie Baker thanked everyone for attending and all those who had assisted to make the event such a success.

She remarked "It was lovely to see so many people enjoying themselves, most of all hearing them say afterwards, just how lovely it was to see people they hadn't seen in years again".
