MEMBERS of the Ledbury Branch of Pony Club were lucky enough to visit Olympian Carl Hester's yard near Newent.

Carl won a team silver in Rio on his horse Nip Tuck to add to the gold won in London.

The photo pictures the Pony Clubbers with Carl and his horse Valegro that Charlotte Du Jardin rode to an individual gold for a second time, having also won it in London.

It was a tremendous opportunity for the youngsters and Carl was extremely generous with his time.

Ledbury Pony Club member Katie Newcombe said "I was extremely lucky to go to Carl Hester's yard today with the Ledbury Hunt Pony Club. Carl was really friendly and answered lots of questions. He even showed us his silver medal that he won in Rio, which is a lot heavier than you think! He showed us around the yard and then we got to meet the amazing Valegro, who really likes having his photo taken, and Nip Tuck, who is a lot bigger than I thought he would be, at 18hh! Thank you Carl for an unforgettable afternoon".
