SHELSLEY Walsh Bike Festival took place on September 4 at Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb, Worcestershire. Hundreds of visitors flocked to enjoy an action-packed day where rare classic, modern and famous motorcycles took to the historic hill climb course - and all for a good cause. All proceeds from the event are donated to the local Blood Bike group Severn Freewheelers.

To many of the visitors the highlight of the day was seeing the world's fastest shopping trolley and monowheel contraptions take to the hill. The shopping trolley is powered by a Chinook helicopter engine (holds record speed of 70.4mph/ 113.298kmh), and the 'Warhorse' the world's fastest monowheel, a one-wheeled vehicle that the rider sits inside and travels up to 65mph. Only one of the monowheels succeeded in reaching the top, but the spirit of endeavour was appreciated by the crowds.

Members of the public also took part in the spectacle by 'running the hill' or participating in a thrilling passenger ride experiences, including the mayor of Tenbury, Mark Willis with his wife Jayne a sister at Tenbury Hospital and the deputy mayor of Hereford Councillor Sharon Michael.
