SIX new recruits have just completed the home visiting preparation course to become a Home-Start Herefordshire volunteer.
These new recruits will soon be carefully matched with families in the county needing support.
The volunteers will be giving three hours a week to help and support other parents finding life hard by using their training and their own experiences. They will be given full and continuous support from the qualified staffs at the Herefordshire charity, who have been providing this valuable service to the county since 1982.
The local charity works with fragile, vulnerable and in some cases hard to reach families with children 0-19.
The next free preparation course will start September 22 running once a week for 10 weeks. All travel expenses will be paid.
The purpose of the course is to explain the ethos of the charity and to help obtain an understanding of the different needs and support the families may require. Accreditation is available at £40 reg fee (optional).
