ON the hottest day of the year so far, Shan Egerton kindly opened her beautiful house and gardens for the local charity to hold its fundraising afternoon tea, with tea and home made scones and cakes galore.
Lesley Moore, chief executive for Dial-a-Ride, said that it had been a great success and that £330 had been raised for the charity.
She thanked everyone who had helped and especially Hay Co-operative store who had supplied the tea and coffee and provided two staff, Gareth and Colin to serve. This was particularly popular with everyone who attended.
Dial-a-Ride was established in 1994 and provides local transport with two accessible minibuses and also the community car service.
More volunteers are always welcome either as drivers, passenger assistants or in the fundraising group, Friends of Dial-a-Ride. For more information call the office on 01497 821616.
