WELL over 100 people attended the summer barbecue and auction put on by Whitton WI members.

The event organised by WI member Julia Frape and her team took place in the gardens of Treburvaugh House by kind permission of Zoe Robinson.

Dorothy Mills president of Whitton WI welcomed everyone to the event and thanked them all for attending, she also gave a big thank you to Zoe for her hospitality, the musicians and all the sponsors who had donated the 35 auction lots. These included logs, hampers, plants, cakes, wines, cheese, prints, beauty treatments, lamb, dog training sessions, a plane ride, rally car ride, meal for ten at Treburvaugh house and many more interesting items.

The evening started with a hog roast provided by Game and Country, followed by a large selection of desserts made by the WI members. In the marquee Ruth Watson and John Hymas entertained everyone with their clarinet and violin music.

It was then time for the auction that raised £1200 for Community events in Whitton. Auctioneer for the evening was Kate Morris a Teme Valley WI member.
