TV antiques expert Kate Bliss has agreed to be an ambassador for the Herefordshire branch of the military charity SSAFA.

Kate, who lives in the county and whose grandfather served with the RAF in the Second Word War, said "SSAFA does a great deal to help the Armed Forces community in Herefordshire whether it’s with social, financial or health issues. I’m delighted to have been asked to support the organisation and to be able to spread the word about its value not only to those who serve but those who have served their country and their families."

SAAFA branch chairman Tim Howson said "We’re thrilled to have Kate on board. She’s taken a great interest in the charity and only recently very kindly donated £1,500 profit made in an edition of the BBC antiques programme Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is. She will be a terrific asset in helping us to get our message across to a wider audience."

In the last 12 months SSAFA caseworkers have helped sort out a range of problems for more than 140 individuals and families.
