GOODRICH Table Tennis Club has enjoyed a successful season, with members collecting a total of five awards at the recent presentation evening for Hereford Table Tennis League. The club's Monday morning recreational sessions also continue to be popular with players of all standards travelling from Ross, Drybrook and Monmouth as well as Goodrich.

Toby Dickens, who is a Year 11 student at John Kyrle High School, joined the club last year and played his first competitive season for Goodrich Rockets. In the second half of the season he lost only two matches from 21 played, a very impressive achievement against much more experienced players. Toby was awarded the HTTL Junior Merit Shield in recognition not only of his promise as a player but also of his outstanding attitude and conduct.

Toby also played a major part in his team's success this season, with Sam Mallett, Dave Gough and Rosemary Chatterton. Goodrich Rockets won the Wenderlish Handicap Cup and also finished as winners of the Hereford League Third Division, securing promotion for next season.

Another club member, Helen Levy, won the Ladies Doubles Trophy with Ann Barnes, at the Hereford County Championships held in Bromyard.

Rosemary Chatterton, as general secretary of the Hereford League, shared a special award with match secretary Martin Gwilt, presented by League Sponsors Winesolution (Wales)UK.
