OVER 85 tractors took part in the annual Teme Valley Vintage Club tractor run.

The event has raised hundreds of pounds for charity.

Before setting out, the winner of the best turned out tractor was chosen by judge Norman Bissell an employee of McConnel’s. The winner was Dennis Richards from Llangunllo who was presented with the John Biggs Memorial trophy by his widow Pat Biggs.

Dennis bought the tractor from Knighton in 1964 and then use it on his farm until he retired. The tractor had recently been done up.

Tractor drivers were taken on a route starting in Knighton, then into Herefordshire via Stonewall Hill and Reeves Lane. They then travelled into Shropshire through Bucknell and Chapel Lawn up onto the top of Springhill for drinks and biscuits and then onto the Anchor where they went into Montgomeryshire for a few miles before returning to Radnorshire where hey travelled town the Teme Valley for a late lunch at the Castle Inn, Knucklas.
