HEREFORD school girl Teagan Melville has successfully been awarded coveted places on both the Elmhurst Extended Associate Programme for ballet and Tap Attack's Senior Associate tap dancing squad.

Associate Programmes have been established with the aim of nurturing young, talented, dancers enabling them to receive the best technical tuition whilst training with like minded-students, keen to pursue a career in dance.

"To successfully audition and be awarded a place in one genre of dance was great, but to have the opportunity to study two such contrasting styles at such a high level is fantastic. I love ballet as it is very disciplined and regimented whereas tap gives a dancer more room for self expression."

Teagan, a pupil at Hereford Cathedral School, has her work cut out juggling the demands of GCSE's and her dance commitments.

"I wouldn't have it any other way," she stated.
