THE Burghill Brownies spent one day just before Christmas bag packing at the local Co-Op store.
The money they raised was donated to Phenylketonuria (PKU) charities, PKU being a rare inherited condition in which there is a build up of phenylalanine in the body.
The girls always donate to a charity which holds some meaning for them and this charity is no exception.
Sophie, one of the Burghill Brownies has this genetic condition and therefore the girls felt this cause was very personal to their pack.
This year they have donated £150 to Birmingham Children's Hospital towards PKU projects such as research and clinical trials.
During one of the recent Brownie meetings, Sophie, her mother and her sister talked to the pack to explain about PKU and why their fundraising is so important.
