WHO would have guessed that a friendly annual local gathering that has been going for eight years, is more popular than ever thanks to the support of the gardening community?
At the Herefordshire Seed Swap there are always stalls and a talk and you'll find seasoned gardeners and newbies alike flocking around the tables with their pockets full of seeds, sharing stories and planning the next year's harvest.
The sheer range of plant varieties laid on the tables can be dazzling at first but get your eye in and rare gems can be found.
Organisers welcome everyone, entry is free and it takes place in the Courtyard Theatre. Even those with nothing to swap can go along and make a selection for a donation.
The next event is on February 6, 11am - 3pm. Attendees are reminded to put the year of harvest, plant name and variety if known on packets of saved seed but last year's left over commercial packets are also very welcome. Facebook page - Herefordshire Seed Swap, swapseeds.org.uk.
