HOME-START Herefordshire is a local charity that supports vulnerable, fragile and hard to reach families who are experiencing difficult times. The scheme has been in Herefordshire for 33 years and gives support to families throughout the county. To become a home-visiting volunteer adults are requested to attend and complete a course of preparation which is run at an accredited level. The trainees will learn safeguarding, boundaries, the toddler and teenage brain plus many more interesting in-depth aspects of bringing up a modern family in today's world and how new strategies can be put in place to help.

Thirteen new volunteers have just completed the latest course ran by Home-Start Herefordshire's fully qualified training staff. They are now eager to help support vulnerable families and become part of this major service that provides help and mentors to families in crisis throughout the county.

Could you give between two to three hours a week of your time to visit a family ? If you would like to join the team of committed volunteers, the next course starts on Monday from 9.30am - 2.50pm which will run every Monday for 10 weeks.

The course is free or accredited (£35 registration course for the accredited version) and all out of pocket expenses are refunded once the course is completed.
