JAMIE Licence from Knighton decided to raise some money for Children in Need by walking to and from work at Mangar International in Presteigne for a week. His first walk began at 5am, and he arrived at work in two hours. He returned home on foot, but despite his hi-vis vest and lights, the journey was one of the most dangerous he had ever taken. At one point he was forced to dive into a hedge to avoid a lorry. The experience persuaded Jamie to cover the distance around Knighton after work.

"There were points last night where I felt in a huge amount of danger, this decision has not been taken lightly and totally comes down to the fact I don't want my nine-year-old son Rhys to end up being a child in need!" Jamie added: "The walk has gone ahead, just slightly modified." On the final day of his challenge, he walked to work - in daylight. When he got to Knighton, he collected Rhys from school for the last leg homewards. Jamie, whose challenge has raised over £600 in sponsorship money, thanked everyone for their support.
