THE annual New Radnor carnival took place last Saturday. The event started with a parade of floats and fancy dress pedestrians from the school, led in a vintage car by carnival king and queen, Josh Probert and Charlotte Maddy, and princesses Megan Hughes and Bella Jones.

The parade went up Water Street and then down through the main street, stopping outside the Radnor Arms for the judging. The Best Float prize went to a group of friends dressed up as characters from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and the Best Pedestrian winners were Laura and Robert Hammond as a nurse and patient. The procession then made its way to the carnival site on Radnor Valley Primary School field. There were lots of things to see and do including a shearing display, stalls selling refreshments and lots of other items, music from the Radnor Valley band and a scarecrow competition.

The scarecrow competition was won by Tracey Price and Sheila Evans and runners up were Sophie Hodge and Maddie Gibson.
