ON August 15 Heather Bromley and Bev Jones held a fundraising event for the Guide Dogs charity at Kyrle Pope Court, Hampton Park. Many residents and visitors were treated to homemade scones and various cakes, including a barbecue and various bric-a-brac stalls to raise money for the continued support towards Guide Dogs UK.

A raffle was also a great attraction which included a cut and blow dry from Toni and Guy, Marks and Spencer gift vouchers, a meal for two at the Cock of Tupsley, a meat voucher from Oak Church Fruit and Farm Shop, a £20 Boots voucher, a £10 voucher from DJ Benjamin Butter Market and various other kindly donated prizes.

Heather and Bev have previously entered events and raised other monies by doing car boot sales in aid of supporting Guide Dogs and both will compete in The Great North run on September 13 all in aid of the charity, setting their sights on larger events in the future.

Many thanks go to the residents of Kyrle Pope Court for hosting the event and the very kind sponsors of the raffle prizes. Both women are continuing to collect sponsorship at www.justgiving.com/Heather-Bromley2BevJones
