LOCAL 12-year-old Izzie Millington is raising money for Cancer Research UK. This inspiring Gwernyfed High School pupil will be having her hair shaved by a local hairdresser tomorrow at The Old Railway Line Garden Centre in Three Cocks at 4.30pm.

Izzie said “I know lots of people who have been affected by cancer. I have lost three uncles and family friends to cancer and I am always meeting other people who have been affected. I hope lots of people come along to support me and help raise as much money as possible towards kicking cancer’s butt. I will also be donating my hair to the Little Princess Trust who provide real hair wigs to children who have lost their hair from cancer treatment.”

Izzie’s mum Becca said “When Izzie first told us she wanted to have her head shaved for charity we were a little taken aback. But when she puts her mind to something there is no stopping her and she is determined to raise as much money as possible. Cancer Research UK is a charity close to my family and we are very proud of her. She has already raised £600 and she hopes to raise £1000 by the time she has her head shaved.”

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend and show their support for Izzie tomorrow at The Old Railway Line Garden Centre in the village of Three Cocks between Brecon and Hay-on-Wye. You can donate by dropping money in collection buckets at the garden centre or visiting Izzie’s JustGiving page online www.justgiving.com/IZABEL-MILLINGTON/
