ON June 29 members of the Knighton and District Rotary Club met at the Tower House Gallery in Knighton to offer their support to local charities. Club president Sheila Smith said “ We have supported many charities, both local and international, this year and we are proud today to hand out a further donation to both the Presteigne and Norton Community Support ( PNCS) and to KINDA, the Knighton Initiative for Dementia Awareness.” Chris Keeffe from KINDA added “ This generous donation will be ring fenced for a memory café for dementia sufferers and their families”. Gordon Ames from the PNCS also thanked the Rotary Club saying ”This money will go towards a staff room for the support group’s warehouse project based in Presteigne.” Julia Roberts of the Tower House Gallery added “ We greatly appreciate the work the Rotary Club does to support community projects and we are pleased to host this presentation today”.
