THE Shop at Bromsberrow was the scene of much activity on June 20 when it hosted a car boot sale in the morning and a strawberry tea in the afternoon.

The shop, which is community owned and run by volunteers, has a large car park which proved ideal for a car boot sale. Fourteen booters offered a variety of items for sale including plants. The shop and café were open for business and the shop had its own stall, tombola and a lucky-dip for children. James Dowdall, events manager said: “It was a hugely successful event with many of the booters asking when we are holding the next one. Thank you to everyone who supported us”.

The strawberry tea in the afternoon was held in conjunction with Ledbury Food Group which promotes local food. Over forty people enjoyed locally made scones, jam, cream and strawberries and a strawberry quiz with prizes of strawberry lollipops. Vivian Brandt from Orchard Grove preserves did a presentation about her jams, made with her own fruit. Griff Holliday, secretary of Ledbury Food Group said “The strawberry tea was a super event with lots of chat and laughter. Ledbury Food Group would like to thank all those at The Shop who made the event so enjoyable.”

The Food Group’s next event is a local food and drink festival with music and poetry held jointly with Ledbury Poetry Festival in Ledbury on July 12 - full details on ledburyfoodgroup.org.
