FOLLOWING a public vote, Presteigne people have voted 13 year old Jenna Niblock as their 2015 carnival queen. Jenna is a pupil at John Beddoes school who enjoys horse riding, playing the guitar, and acting, so much she hopes to go to drama school. Jenna has recently joined the St John's Ambulance cadets in Kington. She lives in Presteigne with mum Carol, dad Chris and sisters Ellie and Ashlin. Ellie was Presteigne carnival queen last year so will be able to give her little sister some tips. Jenna is an amazing young person and despite having a brain tumour is nearly always smiling. Jenna said " I want to be an inspiration to others to encourage them to do what ever they want to regardless of what they are going through". Jenna also thanked everyone who voted for her adding " I am really looking forward to riding through the streets as the carnival queen on July 18. Jenna's mum Carol Niblock said "Jenna was really happy when she heard the news" adding "she has been so good for so long but has recently suffered a few seizures. But she will be there on the day even if she is in a wheelchair or on crutches. She is a very determined young lady".

Her attendants on carnival day will be Billy Lewis and Cerys Morgan who both attend Presteigne primary school, their names picked out of a hat by last year's attendants Menna Baynham and Henry Morgan.
