DORESTONE Front Room celebrated Volunteers' Week by holding a drinks and nibbles party to say thank you to the 30 plus volunteers who help provide a service to Dorstone residents and visitors in cars, on cycles and walkers.
DFR aims to be at the heart of the village and help provide what is needed by the residents, and has been open since December 2008. Most of the volunteers have been with DFR throughout this period and were awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service in 2012.
DFR is open from 9am to 1pm from Monday to Friday to provide tea, coffee and cake and on Fridays the famous bacon rolls.
There is also a selection of local produce and a monthly exhibition by local artists. Computers are available for those without them and expertise is on hand to assist with their use.
John Platts for DFR says, "We are proud of what we have achieved over the years and with the help of our wonderful volunteers we shall continue to serve the community".
