THREE Herefordshire cadets, Shannon Webb, Sydnee Marsh and Jordan Gilbert, have been selected to be part of the 24 cadets representing England at the St John Ambulance International Youth Event in Hong Kong in January 2016.
The Herefordshire three are raising funds to allow them to take this opportunity. They recently organised a fete at St John Ambulance headquarters on Widemarsh Street Hereford. There was a range of stalls selling goods like jewellery and candles, a chocolate tombola, bottle stall, cake stall, fun and face painting, plus tea, coffee and biscuits.
2016 will be the centenary of St John Ambulance in Hong Kong, and the international event includes a first aid competition. It will be a fantastic opportunity for cultural exchange with cadets from around the world, skills exchange and to learn about Hong Kong and China.
