A SOIREE de Cirque arrived in Herefordshire this weekend and saw 300 Herefordians enjoy the splendour of the Circus Hassini whilst dining on a superb four course meal at Mortimer Park, the home of Luctonians Rugby. The Herefordshire venue hosts an array of events throughout the year in addition to a multitude of sport events but it is the first time they have tackled an event on this scale relying entirely on their own in house expertise.

The Soiree gave diners the opportunity to feast their eyes on magicians, jugglers, acrobats, aerial performances and a selection of acts gathered from throughout the UK between courses at this fun packed event which has never been seen in our county before. Ticket sales were swift as diners rushed to reserve their seats for this spectacular evening and they were not disappointed.

"Mortimer Park is a beautiful venue, we are fortunate to attract a variety of bookings throughout the year, like weddings, christenings, parties but we wanted to try something different and our Marketing Committee brought the idea to the table. With a bit of organisation the event was a huge success for us and we are now thinking about what we can pull together to try and beat it," says clubhouse manager Wayne Mills. "We are more than just a rugby club and we enjoy the challenge of trying something new and our team really rose to the challenge."

Circus Hassini was on site at Mortimer Park until April 10.
