ON March 13, Baroness Parminter of Godalming, a vice-president of the RSPCA visited Hereford and called in at the RSPCA Herefordshire Branch shop in Commercial Road, Hereford. She spent time talking to shop staff and volunteers plus local branch trustees, foster carers and supporters.

Lady Parminter said "I am always pleased to visit local RSPCA branches around the country and support the work that so many volunteers do to improve life for animals in their area. Many people do not know that each local branch acts as an autonomous charity. That means that money raised in Herefordshire gets spent here to the benefit of local animals".

RSPCA Herefordshire branch chairman Robert Turner added "We were really pleased to welcome Baroness Parminter and are grateful to the local Lib Dems for making her visit possible. She was clearly impressed by the shop and by the work that our dedicated volunteers do throughout the county".
