ROSS Rotary immediate past president Janet Bastock was delighted to present a cheque for £500 from Ross Rotary Club to Lorna Russell of HOPE Support Services, which had been the club's principle charity during her year of tenure.

HOPE is a registered charity that was started by Sue Trevethan when, through her own experience, she discovered there were no services available to support young people when a close family member is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. With her background as a therapist with young people, Sue set about starting HOPE Support Services from a coffee shop. Now the charity has a permanent base and, as well as weekly sessions in Ross, the service is being expanded into Kington and Hereford. Sue said: "HOPE Support Services is there for young people right from the moment of diagnosis and for however long we’re needed."

Ross Rotary meets every Monday evening at 6.30pm for 7pm at the Chase Hotel. Guests and potential members are very welcome. Please visit our website at www.rossrotary.com
