A SPELLBINDING evening of witches, murder and mayhem is promised at the Crown Inn, Dilwyn on March 18 and 19, starting at 7.30pm, when The Witches of Dilwyn written by Tony Hobbs is to be shown.
Presented by the Dilwyn Amateur Dramatic Academy and directed by Donna Reid, the play revolves round three actresses who, tired of playing the witches in Macbeth, travel to the village of Dilwyn and stay with the mother of Mavis, their leader.
In the local pub they meet up with Berenice, a foreign strawberry picker/working girl, the landlord, Sebastian, and Mr Pong, leader of a Chinese tourist party.
They soon become involved in murder, not one, but three, leading to the arrival of Inspector Sidebottom and a visit to a local Wicca Coven.
Tickets, priced £10 to include a curry supper, are available from the Crown 01544 318063.
