MOTHER'S day is only two weeks away and to celebrate, young potter's aged four years and up were invited to Eastnor Pottery to drop by and make a gift on the potter's wheel for that special lady in their life. The creative outcomes were then fired and ready for collection from the pottery in good time for Mother's Day.
"Each child took a turn on the potter's wheel to create their terracotta masterpiece" commented Jon the potter. "They then got to model pieces of 'mum' inspired decoration to attach it to the outside of the pot" he continued. The resulting creations were left at the studio to dry before they were loaded into the kiln for firing.
The children's work looks pretty amazing when it's been freshly made, but once it's been through the kiln, it's transformed. Participants and their parents love the effect when they come and collect their models a month or so later.
