THE children in Foundation class at Withington Primary have been learning all about fairy tales this term.

This week they were visited by the giant from Jack and the Beanstalk who kept leaving letters.

They planted his golden beans that he left and are looking after them to see if they grow.

On Tuesday he left footprints when he visited so they tried hard to measure them - they were very large.

At the end of the week the children decided they wanted to build him a giant cake, so they talked about his favourite colour which is blue and his favourite sweets, jellybeans of course, and they all worked together to create a giant cake.

They left a slice for the giant and shared the rest with the whole school, they hope the giant liked it!
