REPRESENTATIVES from many of the 28 Powys/Radnor WI groups gathered at Crossgates Community Hall for the launch of their centenary celebrations at a 'meet and greet' afternoon. During the event executive board members, county advisors and officials were introduced to the club members by events organiser Marion Graves. New county chairman Kath Graham welcomed everyone and wished them all a very good and successful year.
She added "This is a very special year for the WI Federation nationally because we will be celebrating our centenary".
She then announced the launch of the raffle for the county quilt made by members for the centenary.
Raffle tickets are £1 each and will be available from all WI members. First prize will be the quilt, 2nd £50 and 3rd a cushion also made by members for the centenary. The draw will take place later in the year at the annual council meeting. All the women then enjoyed a buffet lunch followed by games and entertainment.
